Prepared documents. Local court support.

When your assignment calls for a permitted paper filing, we help handle the courthouse trip. Our physical court filing service supports attorneys, law firms, businesses and self-represented customers who have prepared their documents and identified their filing instructions. Filing acceptance remains with the court.

Check the filing method before dispatch.

Santa Clara County uses mandatory electronic filing for many attorney-represented civil, family and probate matters, with exceptions. A physical court runner does not replace an electronic filing requirement. Confirm the current filing method for your document and case using the court’s instructions or your attorney.

Court Filing Services FAQs.

How much is physical court filing in San Jose?

Standard service is $70 at Downtown Superior Court, $90 at Family Justice Center, $130 at Hall of Justice and $110 for the District Courthouse listing. Rush and immediate rates vary by courthouse. Court fees and other expenses are separate.

Do you offer rush or immediate filing?

Yes, requests can be reviewed for Rush or Immediate service. Confirm the deadline and availability before ordering. Expedited service does not guarantee clerk acceptance or completion before a cutoff.

Is this the same as e-filing?

No. This service concerns physical courthouse handling. Electronic filing uses a separate submission system, and some documents or cases require that method. Check the court’s current instructions before requesting a paper filing.

Are government filing fees included?

No. The listed amount is our service fee. Court fees and other third-party expenses are separate unless expressly included in your written quote.

Will you prepare or correct my legal documents?

This service is for handling a prepared filing packet. We do not provide legal advice or determine which documents you should file. Submit complete documents and specific instructions.

What happens if the clerk rejects the filing?

We relay the filing outcome and any available rejection information. You or your attorney will need to address the issue. Corrections, resubmission or a return trip may require additional charges.

Does filing include courtesy copies or service on another party?

Courtesy-copy delivery and service of process are separate tasks unless specifically included in the accepted assignment. Tell us which additional services you need.

A filed document, a department copy and a retrieved record serve different purposes. Request the additional service your matter needs.
